Assembly of Auto Safety Glass

  • Auto glasses are assembled by means of elastic, ubber fixing or gluing by PU. Special apparatus and bolt-nut connections can be used in heavy construction machinery and tractor glasses.
  • In glasses to be assembled by binding, the cleanliness of binding surfaces, primary applications and awaiting periods following the gluing process are of vital importance.
  • It is a condition for a good assembly to comply with the manufacturer’s instructions for use in PU primer and actuator applications according to the environment conditions and specifications of glasses to be assembled.
  • In assemblies made by means of bolt-nut connection, torque values to be applied to are very important in terms of tension forces to which glass is subjected.
  • Cloth used for cleaning glass es after assembly should be clean and lint-free (free of dust).
  • No chemicals such as thinner, diesel oil etc. should be used for cleaning vehicle casing and glasses.
  • It is recommended to perform a primer application between PU and glass for the entire contact surface, including the edge of the glass.
  • In shipments made in boxes (containers), you never remove separators between glasses inside boxes until they are consumed.
  • Products supposed to be faulty should be marked in areas where such faults are located, and are kept for controlling purposes after they are piled in the same way when received.
  • Laminated glasses exhibit lower resistance against impacts and flexibility compared to tempered glasses. You should act more gently whilst moving and assembling laminated glasses.
